Beat will stop operating in Mexico, Argentina and Peru

The transport platform by application Beat announced its departure from the Mexican, Peruvian and Argentine markets. According to a notification sent to its users in Mexico, the application will stop operating as of this Wednesday, November 9, 2022.

After 11 years since its foundation in Greece and millions of trips, we regret to inform you that we will stop operating in Peru, Mexico and Argentina, from midnight on Wednesday, November 9, 2022”, reads the statement sent by the platform to your customers by email.

According to the platform, from this date it will no longer be possible to make trips through the application. However, user accounts will be active until December 7, 2022. After this date, the Beat app will no longer be available in the Latin American region.

According to a statement released on social networks, the investors of the platform, which is part of the group FREE NOWmade up of automakers BMW y Daimlerdecided to stop investing in Latin America to focus on European markets.

“After the official internal announcement, we will focus on providing the best support for all our impacted employees, as well as notifying our customers and partners of our intention to close our operations,” the company said.

Beat arrived in Mexico at the beginning of 2019 to offer an alternative to the transport services by application that they provided then Uber, Cabify y Didi. In October 2020, the company began offering its transportation service in electric cars Teslawhich he later replaced with Jac brand models.

According to a publication in Diario Financiero, the platform will also close its operations in Chile and Colombia, although the date of these closures is scheduled for December 8, when user accounts will continue to be active, and for December 31, when it will stop to work the application.
