The International Handball Federation (IHF) announced in an official statement that the match between Germany and Cape Verde, scheduled for Sunday evening, will be canceled, and that the German national team will be considered a winner with a score of 10 to zero.
The statement of the International Handball Federation revealed that Corona tests confirmed that 4 players from the Cape Verdean team were infected with the virus and that the team’s list was not completed for the Germany match.

The regulations stipulate the need for 10 players, including a goalkeeper, to compete in the World Cup, a condition that is not met by the Cape Verdean team for the availability of only 9 players to play at the present time, taking into account that the period between the two tests must be 48 hours.
The statement indicated that the German national team, according to the regulations, is considered a winner in the match with a score of 10-0 and obtained two meeting points, thus ensuring its qualification for the next round after it achieved a landslide victory in the first round over its Uruguayan counterpart with a score of 43-14.
For its part, Cape Verde announced its intention to bring additional players eligible to participate in the World Cup, and it is expected that these players will participate in the team’s last match against Uruguay on January 19, provided that there are at least 10 players who have negative stains.
Egypt will host the 27th edition of the Handball World Cup from January 13 to 31, with the participation of 32 teams for the first time in the history of the tournament without fans due to the circumstances of the Corona epidemic.
