Tunisian media reported on Sunday that the army had deployed to a number of states following the renewed riots since last night.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, Muhammad Zakri, confirmed in a statement to “Mosaique” the deployment of military units in front of public facilities and headquarters of the sovereignty in the states of Siliana, Kasserine, Bizerte and Sousse.

He stated that this comes in anticipation of the riots that could target these facilities.
Zakary stated that the National Army forces are about to conduct joint patrols in all regions of the Republic.
The Tunisian Ministry of the Interior announced today that it has arrested more than 240 people, most of them teenagers and boys, after violent confrontations with the police and the outbreak of riots in several Tunisian cities on Saturday.
Walid Hakima, a spokesman for the Internal Security Forces, said that the riot police had arrested 242, most of them youths and children who vandalized property and tried to rob shops and banks.
On Sunday, violent confrontations broke out in several states, as security forces pursued protesters and fired tear gas canisters to disperse them.
