Egypt was able to dazzle the whole world with the effectiveness of the procession of the royal mummies, whose performances and music were very elaborately designed, which reminded people of reading and researching the ancient civilization. And accessories inspired by the pharaohs in a modern spirit, and behind the scenes designing accessories and clothes, we had a meeting with Heba Shabana, who participated in a large team in designing accessories and clothes that combine the spirit of the ancient Pharaonic civilization and modern Egyptian.
Heba Shabana, a graduate of the Institute of Applied Arts, Department of Fashion, and participated in the design of accessories for the procession of the mummies, and the assistant designer and stylist within the Mona Al-Tunisi team, with the event of the opening of the Rams Road, told “The Seventh Day”: “We were two teams for designing costumes and accessories, a team for Marwa Abdel-Samii. And another team by Mona El Tounsi, and I was part of this team, and we implemented costumes and accessories inspired by the pharaonic dress in a modern way for the dancers participating in the video clip, opera singers and musicians.
Regarding the types of fabrics used by Mona Al-Tunisi’s team, Heba said, “We used different types of fabrics in designing costumes for the participants in the event, such as chiffon fabric for singers and musicians, and we used satin in designing other costumes and different types of fabric.”
The team was keen to design pharaonic accessories in a modern spirit to combine the greatness of ancient and modern Egypt, and this was confirmed by Heba, saying, “We designed pharaonic accessories in a modern spirit, and we used copper in the design of crowns, arm bracelets, chains and belts.”
Heba and the team faced some difficulties during the period of designing accessories and fashion, due to their keenness to produce something honorable befitting the civilization and greatness of Egypt. Naturally, we prepare the models, and there was filming until dawn, and we finish filming a part and prepare for the next part, so that we can go to work as we want.”
Heba’s participation in the procession of the mummies and the event of the opening of the road of rams, made her feel proud and happy, and this is what she confirmed, saying, “I feel proud that I participated in it, even if I was part of a large team, and I felt happy and felt that I remained a salvation specialized in designing Pharaonic accessories and costumes.”
Heba dreams of continuing in the field of fashion design, as she said, “I work more and stay at a more advanced level in clothing design.”
