TASS said that the organization supervising the Eurovision Song Contest has removed Belarus from the list of participants in the competition that will be held next May.
The supervising authority stated that the song submitted by Belarus to participate in the competition does not comply with the rules of the competition, and the organizers reached a conclusion that the new song also violates the rules of the competition and may harm its reputation.
On March 11th, the contest organizer refused to accept the song “I Will Teach You” that Galasy Zmesta submitted on behalf of Belarus, because, according to the moderators, “it casts doubts on the non-political nature of the contest”.
The video of the aforementioned song was removed from the festival’s official YouTube channel.
