Real Madrid’s French striker Karim Benzema said that his compatriot Kylian Mbappe will one day play in the Royal Club.
Benzema confirmed in an interview with the French newspaper (L’Equipe) that Mbappe’s joining Real Madrid is “only a matter of time.”
Benzema said that Mbappe “has the desire to test something new. He said it himself. He wants to see other things. He will play one day at Real. I don’t know when but he will come. It is only a matter of time.”
On the other hand, Benzema stressed that Real Madrid “is still the best club in the world”, pointing out at the same time the need to invest in young players so that they can one day become big players.
“I’m here to help them. I talk to them a lot. I want them to improve. When you benefit others you help your team and you feel good,” he said.
Asked about his brilliance in recent years, Benzema said that his goal is to stay at the top both physically and mentally and that he feels he is in very good shape as he is on the verge of turning 34.
Benzema admitted his desire to win the Ballon d’Or, although he stressed that this desire “should not turn into an obsession.”
