US President Joe Biden rearranged the Oval Office and was keen to add images of a number of leaders and icons in the country, and removed icons that former President Donald Trump had placed during his tenure.
The “Washington Post” newspaper said that Biden hung, opposite his presidential office, a large image of Franklin Roosevelt, the former president who saved the country from major crises, and removed a picture that Trump had installed in the Oval Office, showing former President Andrew Jackson, whom Trump considers his role model.
A group of pictures was also spotted in the presidential office, including a picture of former President Thomas Jefferson and former Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton, next to each other, who had lived through many differences. But placing them next to each other symbolizes the bringing together of different points of view.
In the office, a statue of Martin Luther King Jr.and Robert Kennedy was shown next to the famous office fireplace.
Biden’s new collection, according to the newspaper, included statues of figures who played a role in the country’s history, including the labor activist, Cesar Chavez, the civic activist, Rosa Parks, and the former first lady, Eleanor Roosevelt, the wife of Franklin Roosevelt.
The group included a sculpture symbolizing one of the indigenous tribes of the American continent.
The newspaper spotted another statue symbolizing the importance of the flag of President Benjamin Franklin, who is considered one of the founding fathers of the country.
