US President-elect Joe Biden revealed an urgent measure he intends to take after he took office on January 20, to confront what he described as “an existential danger.”
Biden said, in a speech delivered on Saturday, that his administration will re-join in its first day the Paris Agreement to fight climate change (from which outgoing President Donald Trump withdrew) and “will return America to the endeavors of world leadership” in combating this challenge.
Biden warned of the seriousness of climate change in the world, saying: “Hey young people, we are facing a crisis!”
Biden announced in his speech the names of the members of his climate team, and continued: “When we talk about climate changes that pose an existential threat, we do not have time to waste, and this team will, from the first day, be prepared to deal with this issue with the urgency it deserves and rebuild our country better than Ever”.
When it comes to the existential threat of climate change, we have no time to lose. This team will be ready on day one to meet this moment with the urgency it demands and build our nation back better than ever. pic.twitter.com/ciPgM5geDG
