US President Joe Biden confirmed Wednesday that his predecessor, Donald Trump, left a message for him on his office at the White House, which he described as “very generous,” without revealing its contents.
“The president wrote a very generous message to me,” Biden told reporters.
He added, “Being private, I will not talk about it … but she was very generous.”
CNN reported that outgoing US President Donald Trump left a message for President-elect Joe Biden at the White House, without its contents being revealed.
It is a modern tradition on the day of inauguration for presidents who leave office to write to their successors a letter offering the best wishes and advice.
The letter is usually left on the president’s table in the Oval Office for reading when the new president enters the office for the first time.
