The president’s first trip will be to Durham, North Carolina, where on Tuesday he will visit the offices of the Wolfspeed semiconductor company, which plans to build a manufacturing plant in the state in which it will invest $5 billion.
Biden will make a second trip at some point during the tour, which will last three weeks, although the destination is not known at the moment.
In addition to the president, members of the Administration such as the vice president, Kamala Harris; the first lady, Jill Biden; Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg; or the Secretary of the Treasury, Janet Yellen, will participate in the initiative by visiting different territories of the country.
One of the main objectives of the tour, indicated a US government official, will be to defend the value for working families of the Democrat’s policies, such as the Inflation Reduction Act, approved in August of last year, which provides for investments worth 370,000 million dollars to accelerate the energy transition.
