National Security Adviser in the administration of US President-elect Joe Biden confirmed that his administration may impose more sanctions on Russia, following the widespread cyber attack on US government institutions.
In an interview with CNN, Sullivan suggested that Russia would “probably stand” behind the attack, which led to the penetration of 250 electronic networks of the US government.
He pointed out that this conclusion comes based on the statements of the resigned US Attorney General William Barr, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and “the modern history of Russian practices.”

He pointed out that the US authorities, three weeks after the attack, have not yet determined its size, the intentions of the hackers, and the extent of its success, stressing that the penetration of this size not only provides increased opportunities in the field of espionage, but also allows a third party to carry out acts of sabotage.
In response to a question about the way the next administration intends to follow to “deter Russian President Vladimir Putin,” he said: “The president-elect had said that he would impose a heavy price on such attacks.
