© Reuters Bitcoin rises more than 6% and recovers $30,000
Madrid, May 13 (.).- The , the best-known cryptocurrency in the market, rises more than 6% this Friday and recovers 30,000 dollars, after having fallen to levels of November 2020 influenced by the collapse of the stable cryptocurrency ( stablecoin) TerraUSD.
According to market data consulted by Efe, bitcoin rose 6.82% shortly before 2:00 p.m. compared to yesterday’s close, up to 30,505.88 dollars, but during the week it accumulated losses of 15.44%.
This cryptocurrency has registered a downward trend since the beginning of the year in a context of tightening monetary policies to combat high inflation, falls that increased after TerraUSD lost its parity with the dollar and plummeted 99.92%.
TerraUSD, unlike other “stablecoins”, was not backed by other assets but by an algorithm linked to luna, another unbacked digital currency, so its fall has affected the market price of other cryptocurrencies.
The ether, the second by volume, also recovered on this day and rose 9.42% to $2,106.27.
