Bitso begins massification of its debit card

Although it has not been the best time in the world of cryptocurrenciesthe participants continue with the announcement of new products and now it is Bitso, the largest exchange in Latin America, which reported on the massification of its debit card and that it could reach more than 100,000 people.

According to the firm, in November 2022 the company announced the launch of Bitso Card, so a beta testing phase began in which a group of customers were invited to use it, to provide feedback on their experience.

However, as of this March 2, the Bitso Card will begin to progressively reach the more than 100,000 users who signed up on the waiting list, in order to use it for their daily expenses.

“One of our objectives as a company is to provide access to safe, easy-to-use and borderless financial products, so we are confident that the Bitso Card will be the gateway for many people to the digital economy of the future”, commented Bárbara Briseño, General Director of Bitso México.

According to the exchange, confidence in this product lies in the fact that seven out of 10 people expect to use less and less cash in Latin America to settle their purchases, according to Mastercard’s New Payment Index study.

“Today, consumers demand financial tools that reflect their lifestyle. Our collaboration with Bitso responds directly to this demand, together we are promoting the payment industry evolutionthrough technological innovations that guarantee fast, safe and efficient transactions for consumers”, explained Mauricio Schwartzmann, country manager of Mastercard Mexico.

This product is made up of a physical and digital card in alliance with Mastercard, so Bitso users will be able to pay for any product and service both in Mexico and abroad, in more than 90 million affiliated stores around the world.

“By using the card, users will be able to access special benefits and rewards in different businesses such as Uber, Mercado Libre, Cinépolis,” Bitso explained.

According to the firm, users who make use of the Bitso Card will be able to pay for their purchases, using their balance on the platform in Mexican pesos.
