The Blazers have decided to give Patrick Patterson a chance. As reported by Adrian Wojnarowski, a journalist from ESPN, the power forward has reached an agreement with the Oregon franchise to be present at the training camp, where he will try to show that he still has things to contribute on the court to earn a chance to continue in the NBA.
Patterson has spent the last two seasons with the Clippers, with whom he hasn’t exactly been a fixture in the rotation. During the 20-21 season, he played only 38 games, in which he averaged 5.2 points and 2 rebounds in 15 minutes, shooting with a 35.7% success from the triple.
The future of the player seemed to be outside the NBA, as the latest rumors indicated the interest of Panathinaikos in him. However, Patrick could still have an opportunity in Portland, where they seem eager to add veteran players to their squad, as they already tried men like Michael Beasley or Kenneth Faried in the Summer League, although neither of them succeeded, at least by now, win a contract.
