BMV and Biva rise in a volatile day; highlights performance of Aeroméxico

Las stock exchanges in mexico Tuesday’s negotiations ended on positive ground. Local stock indices rose on a day of indecision, due to an unstable global context and few relevant economic benchmarks.

the leading index S&P/BMV IPC from Mexican stock exchange (BMV), which groups the 35 most traded shares in the country, advanced 0.74% and closed at 45,792.99 units. The FTSE BIVAfrom Institutional Stock Market (Biva), rose 0.83% to 954.79 points.

Within the leading index, most components closed with gains, with 20 stocks in the green and 15 in the red. The greatest advances were seen by Megacable titles, with 3.36%; Cuervo, with 3.28%, and Grupo Financiero Banorte, with 2.16 percent.

Outside the index, Aeroméxico stood out, with 4.71% at 178.01 pesos. The shares of this airline, which recently came out of a restructuring, rose after the approval of the National Banking and Securities Commission for its takeover bid.

Aeroméxico intends to delist its shares from the Mexican market by buying the titles that are in the hands of private investors. The price you want to set for the purchase would be 184.78 pesos per unit, a difference of 3.80% with the current price.

On the day, 177.4 million shares were traded on the S&P/BMV IPC.
