BMV opens higher driven by investors’ appetite for risk

The Mexican stock exchange (BMV) continued with the bullish tone this Friday as investors increased their appetite for risk with the relaxation of the restrictions due to the Covid-19 in China and with the good data on US inflation still leaving their mark.

China eased some of the measures of its restrictive Covid zero policy this Friday, which led its markets and currency to rebound during the day.

“We do not rule out that the markets continue to assimilate the inflation in the United States that was known yesterday, as well as the statements of some members of the Federal Reserve that have assumed slightly less restrictive positions”, said analysts from Ve por Más.

At the local level, data from the industry activityl of Mexico that fell 0.2% in September against the previous month and increased 3.9% at the interannual rate, according to data from Inegi.

the leading index S&P/BMV IPCwhich groups the 35 most traded shares in the Mexican market, rose 0.29% to 51,164.35 points, shortly after the start of the session.

The BMV followed the same upward trend as the rest of the markets in Latin America except for Colombia, where the MSCI COLCAP index began the session depreciating more than 2.5 percent.
