John Bolton, who has held the position of National Security Adviser to President Donald Trump for more than a year, confirmed that he opposes his removal from office less than two weeks before the end of his term, describing it as a “foolish act.”
In an interview with The Hill newspaper, Bolton said: “Anyone requesting the removal or removal of Trump from office should be able to demonstrate that this will make things better … I do not deny that there is a problem, but I don’t think doing so will make the situation. Best”.
Bolton considered that Amendment No. 25 to the Constitution “is perhaps the worst written text in the constitution,” warning that it may cause more problems for the nation.
He stated, “It has not been used (the amendment) before, and the idea of trying to use it now for the first time and risking two presidents simultaneously I think would be a foolish act.”
Several Democrats, and even some Republican Party members, have called for Trump’s removal through Section Four of the Twenty-Fifth Amendment, with the vice president and most cabinet officials signing a letter to Congress saying the president is not fit to stay in office.
