The Boston Celtics have executed their respective team options for the 2022-23 campaign on the players Grant Williams and Romeo Langford, the Massachusetts franchise made official.
Langford, trained in Indiana and selected by the 14th pick of the 2019 Draft, has NBA career averages of 2.9 points, 1.6 rebounds and 13.4 minutes in 53 official games (6 as a starter).
For his part, Williams, also the 22nd pick of the 2019 Draft, has enjoyed more opportunities, first under Brad Stevens, and this year with new coach Ime Udoka. So far this season he has started 2 of the 6 games he has played with numbers of 9.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 22.8 minutes per day.
A 10th pick without minutes
Jalen Smith, trained at the University of Maryland and the 10th pick in the 2020 Draft, has barely had opportunities in the Arizona franchise, and only played garbage minutes. For this reason, the Suns have seen fit not to execute his team option, and he will be an unrestricted agent in the summer of 2022.
In his rookie course he barely averaged 2 points and 1.4 rebounds in just over 5 minutes per game.
