Boy, 13, is stabbed in the leg and neck at a shopping centre during Boxing Day sales

Police have arrested a teenage boy for attempted murder after he stabbed a 13-year-old boy in the leg and neck at a shopping centre on Boxing Day. 

The suspect, 14, attacked the victim at the Potteries Centre in Staffordshire during the post-Christmas sale.

An off-duty doctor, alongside paramedics, rushed to help the teen, who was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. 

Staffordshire Police arrested the 14-year-old boy on suspicion of attempted murder, robbery and grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been granted condition bail while the investigation continues.

Emergency personnel responded to the shopping centre around 3pm on Tuesday following reports of violence.

An ambulance, two paramedic officers and police were sent to the scene, West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed to MailOnline.

The 13-year-old victim was treated for leg and neck injuries, which were said to be non-life-threatening, before being transported to hospital in stable condition. His current condition remains unknown. 

The stabbing suspect, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested and has ‘been granted conditional police bail while inquiries continue.’

A small portion of the Potteries Centre, including the public toilets, was temporarily closed to the public.  

A worker confirmed to MailOnline that the shopping centre had reopened as normal yesterday.

Meantime, Staffordshire Police are investigating the incident and have launched an appeal for information from any potential witnesses.

‘The incident is now being investigated by Staffordshire Police and anyone with information should contact them directly,’ a spokesperson said.

News of the stabbing comes as video of two women brawling inside an Oxford Street store during Boxing Day sales circulates on social media.

A shop worker who stepped into break up the fight between the two women was left with a head injury as shocked customers watched on.

The incident occurred at clothes store Pull&Bear in London at 6.10pm on Monday as thousands descended on busy shopping districts across the UK to hunt for bargains.

Footage circulating on social media shows a member of staff braking up the two women that began to hit each other at the high street chain store

In the video, a woman is seen grabbing what appears to look like a metal clothes rail, and then attempting to hit another customer. 

The woman on the receiving end then grabs a pair of jeans off the rack as she tries to hit her opponent back.

Other customers can be heard shouting amid the chaos and rushing to store’s exit to avoid getting caught up in the nasty scrap.

The two women were eventually broken up by a security guard. 

It is not yet known what caused an argument to erupt between the two shoppers, or whether they were later questioned or asked to leave the store.
