This is a milestone year in the future for Bradley Beal. The Wizards star has always been loyal to his team and, despite the rumors that pointed to it, he has never asked for the transfer while signing extensions that allowed him to remain on the roster. That has been the context in which he has moved, one in which no one would have reproached him for wanting to go out. Well, in the coming days, weeks or months, he will say, he must choose between joining his future with Washington or terminating his current contract.
Beal enters the first year of the two-year, $ 72 million extension he signed in October 2019 this season. That deal included the second year as a shooting guard option; that is, if he wants to, he will be an unrestricted free agent next summer. The franchise knows this, and that is why it plans to put a maximum extension offer ahead of it from today (October 1), the first business day for it. To be exact, such an offer would be for four years and $ 181 million. She has a sweet tooth but… will Beal accept her?
