The Brazilian Ministry of Health announced that it had registered 65,169 new cases of Coronavirus in the country during the last day, and 1,337 deaths.
This brings the total number of Coronavirus infections in Brazil to 10 million and 455 thousand and 630 cases since the start of the epidemic.
The death toll from the virus reached 252,835 people as of Friday.
Against the backdrop of a new rise in daily infection rates with the Coronavirus, the Governor of the capital, Brasilia, Ibanis Rocha, decided to impose a complete closure in the city, starting from Saturday, to curb the spread of the virus.

The measures require the 24-hour closure of all non-essential facilities and services in the capital, which has a population of 3 million.
This comes at a time when the occupancy of intensive care departments in the capital’s hospitals has reached more than 80%, as it was during the height of the epidemic last year.
