Brazil in the Time of Corona
On Monday, the Brazilian Ministry of Health announced that 1,383 deaths and 49,293 new cases of the emerging coronavirus had been recorded.
In recent weeks, Brazil has witnessed sharp and unprecedented increases in new infections with the Coronavirus, and on March 17 this indicator reached 90,303 cases, on March 18, 86982, and on March 19, 90570, which represents a record number, and on March 20, 79069.
The country recorded the second largest death toll from the virus in the world after the United States, and the third highest number of infections after the United States and India.
However, the health authorities confirmed that the official statistics may differ significantly from the real numbers, because the tests did not include all the injured.
