The Brazilian Ministry of Health announced Sunday that it had recorded 17,341 new cases of coronavirus and 293 deaths in the past twenty-four hours.
The ministry data indicate that the South American country has recorded more than 7.7 million injuries and 196018 deaths since the outbreak of the epidemic ten months ago.
The Brazilian Health Supervision Authority approved the import of two million doses of the Corona vaccine developed by “AstraZeneca” and “Oxford”, although the vaccine has not yet been approved for use in the country.
The authority said it approved the import request from the Federal Government’s Biomedical Center “Fiucrose” on Thursday.
She added that importing doses before approval will enable the vaccination to start once the Health Control Authority approves its use.
