‘Breaking Bad’ Actor Raymond Cruz Arrested for Allegedly Spraying Neighbor with Hose
Raymond Cruz, the actor best known for his role as Tuco Salamanca in ‘Breaking Bad,’ was arrested Monday morning in Los Angeles on suspicion of misdemeanor battery following a dispute with a neighbor.
According to law enforcement sources, police were called to the actor’s home in the Silverlake neighborhood after a woman claimed Cruz had intentionally sprayed her with a garden hose.
Sources familiar with the incident state the conflict began while Cruz was washing his car. The woman reportedly parked very close to his vehicle, and after he asked her to move, she was sprayed with water as he continued washing. The woman believed the act was deliberate, which prompted the call to police.
Cruz was taken into custody for processing. Because the arrest is for a misdemeanor, the case will be handled by the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, and no formal charges have been filed at this time. For minor infractions, the City Attorney often defers prosecution in favor of an office hearing, which can result in a warning or an agreement to attend anger management courses in exchange for dropping charges.
In addition to his memorable role in the ‘Breaking Bad’ universe, Cruz has an extensive television career, including roles in the crime dramas ‘The Closer’ and ‘Major Crimes.’
A representative for the actor declined to comment.
