A number of security men were injured and broken in the British city of Bristol, after violent altercations with demonstrators who refused to grant security men new powers to deal with violators of the isolation measures.
British media reported that the protesters attacked police stations and burned a number of security personnel’s cars, after the government’s plans to grant the police new powers to deter violators of the closure measures.
Security men said that they were pelted with fireworks, while some of them were transported to Bristol hospitals after they suffered bone and rib fractures.
Tweeters circulated videos showing protesters smashing the windows of the main police station in Bristol.
