Britain announced that it will prevent those coming from Tanzania and the Congo, from entering its territory, as of Friday, to stop the spread of a new strain of Corona virus that appeared in South Africa.
British Transport Secretary Grant Shaps wrote on Twitter: “All arrivals from both countries will be denied entry, except for those with British and Irish citizenship and valid residency.”
This came at a time when the daily deaths of Corona in Britain rose to new levels and the pressure on government hospitals increased.
Britain set a new record in the number of deaths from the disease in one day on Wednesday for the second day in a row, reaching 1820, numbers described by Prime Minister Boris Johnson as “appalling.”
Despite the increase in the number of deaths, the number of daily injuries decreased from a peak reached on the eighth of January with the monitoring of about 68 thousand cases in one day, to the registration of 37,892 cases on Thursday.
