Artist David Lyndon, 52, of Bournemouth, Dorset, has managed to copy a miniature painting of Van Gogh’s Starry Night that can be inserted into the eye of a sewing needle, according to the British newspaper, Daily Mail.
One of the paintings
David painted other paintings such as The Scream by Edvard Munch, The Girl with the Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer, The Balloon Girl by Banksy, and Van Gogh’s Starry Night and Sunflowers.
All the paintings were sold to private collectors for £15,000 each.
Lyndon, a former engineer, drew the mini-arts himself after taking inspiration from a TV show, and before turning to miniature paintings, Lyndon refined his craft to draw artistic figures such as singer Freddie Mercury and singer Amy Winehouse.

In an effort to diversify and find a new challenge, Lyndon created his own small masterpieces.
“It seemed like a natural progression to explore the paintings and discover how small they are,” Lyndon told the BBC.

During the drawing of a small painting, David used a coin to draw a painting of its size, and he focused on conveying the finer technical details of the most famous paintings to the great artists, and David spoke about his feeling during the drawing, saying: “I have to basically slow my heartbeat … I control my nerves.” And prove myself. I got lost in my own world, I really do.”

David spends over a month painting each 0.02 inch (0.5 mm) wide plastic artwork.
Lyndon added, “The only thing I enjoy is when I paint, I feel good, especially when I see the expressions of joy and surprise on people’s faces, it’s wonderful.. I’ve sold small pieces before but this is the first time I have sold many paintings.”
David’s paintings are displayed in an exhibition at the Center. Lighthouse Media Center At Wolverhampton, during this period until October 29.
