Britain’s chief scientific advisor considered, today, Saturday, that the vaccines against “Covid-19”, “seem sufficient” to generate an immune response to a new variant of the Corona virus that is more transmissible.
“More public health measures are needed to keep the new format under control,” Patrick Vallance told reporters.
Valance’s comments came shortly after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced tougher restrictions on the Corona virus in London and the southeast.
For his part, Britain’s chief doctor, Chris Whitty, announced that the new surge of the emerging corona virus that was detected in his country is spreading very quickly.
He said: “The British medical authorities have alerted the World Health Organization to the rapid spread of the new boom in southeastern Britain, and it continues to analyze the received data to improve its understanding of the reality.”
He pointed out that “there are no indications at the present time that the new mutation is more deadly than its predecessors or that it is able to resist anti-Corona vaccines,” explaining that “scientific research is underway to confirm or deny that.”
