About half of teenagers feel… Social media addictsAccording to an analysis conducted by the British University of Cambridge.
The British PA Media agency reported on Wednesday that the preliminary results of the study conducted at the university were described as “astonishing,” as researchers said that some people’s relationship with social media could be “similar to behavioral addiction.”
The Cambridge University team is analyzing data from the Millennium Generation Study, conducted by the Center for Longitudinal Studies at the University of London. The study traces the lives of more than 18,000 children born in the United Kingdom during the years 2000 and 2001, to map the backgrounds of children born at the beginning of the 21st century.
Cambridge University researchers found that 48% of 7,022 people surveyed either agreed or strongly agreed with the statement, “I think I’m addicted to social media.”
Data were collected during the period between January 2018 and March 2019.
