Britney Spears‘ father Jamie Spears has issued a brief statement following his daughter’s shocking hearing in Los Angeles where she revealed details of her conservatorship.

Following Britney’s remote appearance in court, Jamie Spears’ legal team have released a statement insisting he ‘loves his daughter very much.’

They said: ‘He is sorry to see his daughter suffering and in so much pain. Mr Spears loves his daughter very much.’

Statement: Britney Spears’ father Jamie Spears has issued a brief statement following his daughter’s shocking hearing in Los Angeles where she revealed details of her conservatorship

The statement comes after a New York Times report revealed that the 68-year-old Jamie has moved back to his hometown in Kentwood, Louisiana, living in an RV.

He reportedly sold the house that Britney grew up in and he has been living in an RV that is parked at a warehouse, which contains memorabilia from his daughter’s career, just on the outskirts of Kentwood.

Jamie has been in control of his daughter’s conservatorship for the past 13 years, controlling what is believed to be a fortune of $60 million.

While he controls her fortune and reportedly lives in an RV, his daughter is only given an allowance of $2,000 per week.

It was revealed during the Wednesday hearing that Britney wants to end the conservatorship, which was created in 2008, and that she has been opposing it quietly for the past seven years.

‘I want this conservatorship to end – I truly believe that this conservatorship is abusive,’ Spears told Los Angeles Judge Brenda Penny.

‘I want to be able to get married to my boyfriend and have a baby but the conservatorship told me I can’t do that,’ she continued.

‘I have an IUD (intrauterine device) inside me to prevent me from having a baby. I want to go to a doctor and take it out so I can have a baby but they (the conservatorship) told me no,’ she added.

‘I feel ganged up on and bullied and alone,’ the singer continued.

While Spears delivered her 25-minute presentation virtually, hundreds of supporters were outside of the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in downtown Los Angeles.

Many of her supporters held signs that read ‘#FreeBritney’ and ‘We Love You Britney’ while the singer begged Judge Penny to end the conservatorship.

‘I want changes. I want changes going forward, and I deserve changes. It’s my wish and dream for all of this to end,’ she said.

Spears even compared the conservatorship to ‘sex trafficking,’ saying they are, ‘making anyone work against their will, taking all their possessions away credit card, cash, phone, passport.’

She was put on several types of medications including lithium which made her feel ‘drunk,’ adding that her family did nothing and, ‘My dad was all for it.’

‘I cried on the phone to my dad for an hour and he loved every minute of it. My dad and everyone else who has played a key role in my conservatorship should be in jail,’ she said.

‘They have way too much control. I don’t drink alcohol but I should, considering what they put my heart through,’ Britney added.

She was told twice by Judge Penny to slow down after talking too fast, but made it clear she wants the conservatorship to end, immediately.

‘I want to end this conservatorship. I don’t want to be evaluated. I have had enough. I don’t want to be in this stupid conservatorship any more. It’s embarrassing and humiliating. I’m not lying. I just want my life back. It’s been 13 years and it’s enough. I’m done,’ she said.

She was put in a $60,000-a-month treatment facility three years ago, which she initially said publicly that she was happy there, but she admitted in court that was a lie.

‘When I went there they took everything away from me. They watched me change, naked every single day. I sat in a chair for 10 hours a day, seven days a week.

‘I am not happy. I can’t sleep. I’m so angry, I’m insane. I’m scared by people. I don’t trust people,’ she added.

‘The conservatorship should end. What state allows people to say, ‘You can’t spend your money unless you do as we say,’ Spears continued.

After her passionate speech, which Judge Penny called, ‘courageous,’ the singer’s lawyer, Samuel Ingham, said he has not been asked to file a motion to end the conservatorship, but he said if Britney, ‘directs me to file a petition to end the conservatorship, I will do that.’

Judge Penny said she wants to schedule a hearing to discuss the next steps, since there currently is no petition in front of the court.

‘There is no petition before the court. A number of those items that Miss Spears brought before the court, we will be discussing, and they do require petitions,’ said Judge Penny.

Last year, Penny refused a motion to remove Jamie as head of the conservatorship, and appointed financial services company Bessemer Trust to share the duties with him.

Jamie’s lawyer, Vivian Thoreen, claimed that the singer’s father has only been trying to help his famous daughter, even claiming he helped increase her net worth.

‘For over 12 years, Mr Spears has more than capably and dutifully served as the conservator of his daughter’s estate, always doing what he believed was in his daughter’s best interest,’ said Thoreen in court documents.

‘Mr Spears has performed his job well. This is a fact. He has taken the estate from being in debt and facing tens of millions of dollars of lawsuits, to a current value of well over $60 million,’ Thoreen added.

‘Mr Spears did this all while also serving as conservator of the person (Britney)….and working diligently with a team of professionals to restore (Britney) to good health and revive her career as best as possible under the circumstances,’ the lawyer said.

The conservatorship began in 2008 after Britney’s much-publicized breakdown, with her father Jamie given a $16,000-a-month salary as conservator, which comes directly out of the singer’s estate.
