Bulls star Lonzo Ball faces the ‘growing possibility’ of a THIRD knee surgery in 14 months… with point guard still unable to run or jump without pain
Chicago Bulls star Lonzo Ball was already set to miss the remainder of the 2022-23 season as a result of offseason knee surgery, however there is now a ‘growing possibility’ that he will need to undergo another operation, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Another operation would mark the third knee surgery for Ball in the past 14 months, and it would also require at least another six months of rehab.
‘The belief is that a third surgery is likely necessary to give the former No. 2 overall draft pick his best opportunity to play again,’ Wojnarowski said.
He also noted that both the Bulls and Ball’s representatives are working together to consult with specialist before a decision is made.

Ball has been out of action since January 14th, 2022 due to injury problems with his knee
Ball has not appeared in an NBA game since January 14th, 2022 against the Golden State Warriors and another surgery would all but likely push back the chances of him being ready to return to the court at the start of next season.
Recently it was said that even though Ball was progressing in his rehab he was still unable to run or jump without experiencing pain.
He is currently in the second year of the four-year $80 million deal he signed with the Bulls in free agency ahead of the 2021-22 season.
During his first season after moving from New Orleans to Chicago, Ball averaged 13.0 points, 5.1 assists and 5.4 rebounds and shooting 42% on 3-pointers.
He played a significant role on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor helping lead the Bulls to a 27-13 record before the injury.
Since Ball has been out this season Chicago has struggled and gone 30-36 which currently has them sitting in 11th place in the NBA Eastern Conference.
If the season were to end today the Bulls would miss the NBA play-in tournament.
