Burkina Faso’s French national team coach, Hubert Velaud, considered that Youssef Belaili, the Algerian national team player, had qualifications that would have allowed him to play for Spanish club Real Madrid, English club Chelsea, or French club Paris Saint-Germain.
The “Al-Khayul” national team coach said in a press interview, “To talk about Youssef, we need a complete episode. He is a player who could have played for Real Madrid, Chelsea, or Paris Saint-Germain. He is still making his way on the field, but he can provide a better performance.”
He added, “Blailey has tremendous technical capabilities, and is a confident player.”

📌 “Talking about Youssef Blayli requires a full session, but if we talk briefly about him in two words, he is a player whose career should have been greater, with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea as an example.” pic.twitter.com/6NQ6ZXJKyy— El Capitano⭐ (@spuerlilo) January 22, 2024
The Burkina Faso coach pointed out that factors prevented Belaili from achieving the levels of international stardom. Such as discipline, professional mentality, and not having a great business manager.
He said, “Did he make wrong choices in his career? No, he had a lifestyle. It was difficult to reconcile it with the high level, but this is his character, and this is also his strength. He is a naturally talented player, and he has great self-confidence.”

Coach Philoud previously coached Belaili at Ittihad Algeria Club during the 2014-2015 football season.
Belaili participated with the Algerian national team in the three matches in the group stage of the African Cup, which resulted in its exit from the tournament after achieving two points from two draws.
“The Sultan” wore the colors of the Algerian national team for the first time in 2015 and participated in 53 international matches, during which he scored 9 goals and provided 25 assists.
The 31-year-old is competing in the African Championship for the third time in his career, where he participated in 12 matches, in which he scored two goals and provided one assist.
Belaili has previously played for several European and Arab clubs, including Tunisian club Esperance, Saudi club Al-Ahly, Qatar club Qatar, and the French club Ajaccio and Brest Stadium.
