Spanish media reported today, Monday, that Real Madrid is considering signing Pau Torres, Villarreal defender, during the upcoming summer transfer market to compensate for the expected departure of defender Sergio Ramos.
Real Madrid officials say Pau Torres has the qualifications to become the successor to 34-year-old Sergio Ramos, whose contract expires in June.
Cadena Cope radio reported that Ramos had not received any official offer from the royal team to renew his contract, and he only discussed this orally with club president Florentino Perez.
Matador Ramos has the right to negotiate from now with any team he wants, to join him for free after the end of his contract next June.
Reports indicate that the market value of the 23-year-old defender, Pau Torres, is 50 million euros, but in light of the economic crisis caused by the Corona virus, and the good relations between Real Madrid and Villarreal, the cost of the deal could decrease.
