Egypt’s ambassador to Washington, Moataz Zahran, said that the Iranian nuclear file is not the only problem for Egypt.
He explained that Egypt believes that the nuclear file is not the only problem with regard to Iran’s behavior in the region, but also Iran’s interference and its efforts to destroy the assets of Arab countries throughout the region, which must be confronted.
Zahran pointed out in a video interview with the National Council for American-Arab Relations that there is an opportunity for cooperation with the new administration in the United States in light of the escalation of Iranian interference in the various conflicts in the region, whether in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq or Yemen, which led to the deepening of the problems there.
He continued: “The Iranian nuclear file should not be dealt with in isolation from Iranian interference in all conflicts in the region, and there are discussions between Egypt and the United States regarding Iran, whether with the Republicans or the Democrats.”
