The Brooklyn Nets beat Milwaukee 119-115 in the preseason game that played two of the biggest names in the Eastern Conference. The New Yorkers, who played their first preseason game at home, took the duel against the Bucks who reserved practically all their important players, while Nash did give minutes to several of their stars. However, the one in charge of sealing the triumph was neither more nor less than a rookie.
And, despite playing only eight minutes, Cam Thomas was able to add 7 points, including the triple that made it 115-111 in the absence of 30 seconds and left the crash in the hands of his own. The number 27 in the draft is being one of the pleasant surprises of the preseason of Brooklyn, and this morning, even in a short time, he returned to leave samples of his talent and his nerve to score, making it clear to Nash that he is prepared to have a presence in team rotation.
Who also sent a message to his coach was Jordan Nwora, who with 30 points finished as the top scorer of the game. The Nigerian, who shone in the outside shot with a 6/10 in triples, led the Wisconsin team and kept them close at all times despite the fact that Budenholzer decided to play the game with the reserves of the squad. This gave the opportunity to highlight men who normally do not have the opportunity to do so, such as Nwora himself or Sandro Mamukelashvili, who signed a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds.
In Brooklyn, Kevin Durant and James Harden made their debut this preseason, although neither of them made it past 24 minutes on the track. This was enough for the forward to reach 18 points, more than any of his teammates, while La Barba, more discreet, stayed at 8. Who also stood out was Joe Harris, who scored five triples in six attempts, while LaMarcus Aldridge had 12 points. Irving, for his part, was left out due to the restriction imposed on the unvaccinated at the Barclays Center.
The Nets will return to the courts next Monday, October 11 in Philadelphia, while the Bucks will do so on Sunday, hosting the Thunder at the Fiserv Forum. In 10 days, both will meet again in the first meeting of the regular season.
