A mother has come up with a simple solution for keeping her houseplants in her home all year round without ‘killing’ them.
The woman, from Sydney, shared a picture on social media of her $65 storage unit from Kmart filled with potted and hanging plants of all shapes and sizes.
However, she pointed out her greenery collection features just one real plant because she doesn’t have a good track record of keeping houseplants alive.

‘Who loves greenery? Only one plant is real because I just kill them,’ she wrote in a Facebook group, along with a laughing emojis.
Many were stunned to find out most of her plants were artificial.
‘I kill all my plants too… How great are fake ones theses days… Let me take a stab and say the one next to the family rules in the black vase is real,’ one woman wrote, to which the mother responded: ‘Yes. The one in the black vase is the real one.’
She explained her artificial plants were purchased from multiple stores, including Kmart, Big W and Ikea.

Some said they couldn’t even tell the plants apart because they look so realistic.
‘From the photo who would know the difference. It looks great,’ one said, while another added: ‘Wow it looks amazing! I always kill plants too. You’ve done such a great job.’
And another said: ‘I’m glad I’m not the only one with fake plants everywhere! I’m a plant killer as well. Looks awesome.’
Others described the mother’s display as ‘beautiful’, while others said she won’t have any issues ‘killing’ her indoor plants from now on.
