Canadian authorities announced that the new rules for travelers crossing the land border from the United States into the country went into effect Monday.
According to the applicable rules, people crossing the border with their cars to Canada must provide evidence of a negative test for “Covid-19” that was conducted in the United States within 72 hours, or provide evidence of a positive test result for the virus 90 days before arrival, which is Long enough to get sick and maintain immunity.
The Canadian government will require travelers who arrive at land border points to conduct Covid-19 tests upon arrival, which will also apply to air travelers, in addition to the mandatory quarantine of the hotel for a period of 3 days at their own expense, and they are required to conduct several virus tests.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the measures are aimed at helping prevent new and more transmissible strains from entering the country.
