Cancun will exercise a budget of 5,632 million pesos in 2023

Cancun, QRoo.- The council of the Benito Juarez City Hall approved this weekend the Expenditure Budget for the Fiscal Year 2023 for 5,632 million 16,096 pesos.

This amount will allow increases public investment and works by 206%; and 27% more in Public Security, Firefighters and Civil Protection; 21% in Social Development; 42% in sport; 39% in culture and 19% in Public Services, among others, assured the mayor Ana Paty Peralta.

In addition to what has already been mentioned, Chapter 3000 increased by 32% compared to last year, which will allow the municipal government to equip the elements of the Ministry of Public Safety and Transit; as well as in Chapter 9000, which will allow contributing to the payment of public debt.

In the same town hall session, the issuance of the internal regulations of the Municipal Secretary of Tourism was unanimously approved, which was sent to joint commissions and the Tourism Regulations of Benito Juárez are abrogated to issue a new one.

Councilor Miguel Ángel Centeno Cortés declared that this historical budget will make a difference for the development of Cancun, being applied in an adequate and transparent manner since it implies such a significant increase represents a responsibility on the part of the authorities.

Likewise, councilor Jesús Pool Moo commented that security is part of the municipal government’s priorities, which will be reinforced by hiring more Public Security elements, providing a better image of the destination for tourists and residents themselves.
