A few days ago Collin Sexton was asked about the status of his rehabilitation. The point guard suffered a meniscus tear on November 20 that would possibly keep him out for the entire season. However, when asked recently, the point guard left the door open to a possible return for the playoffs. A few days later, sources close to the franchise assure that the return of the player during this same course does not go through the head of any member of the same.
Chris Fedor account in the last chapter from Wine and Gold Talk Podcast that the words came from a member of the coaching staff in the prelude to the last game against the Bucks. “It has never crossed my mind. I know the injury and how difficult it is to recover from it,” the Cavs member told him. If these predictions end up being fulfilled, and the seriousness of the speech anticipates it, Sexton would miss what would presumably be the first postseason of his career.
Cleveland has had to enter the season with long-term injuries to two heavyweight players in the rotation. First it was Sexton and then Ricky Rubio. The first has spent a couple of seasons probing exit rumors that have ceased with his injury. In fact, it is the Spaniard who is now on the exit ramp. Without Collin or Riky, Darius Garland has finished establishing himself as the star and undisputed beacon of a team that recently stormed the top of the Eastern Conference. However, JB Bickerstaff would surely prefer to have everyone healthy than what should be the first playoffs that the team disputes after the departure of LeBron James.
