The Boston Celtics have decided to dispense with the services of Jabari Parker, as reported by the journalist from The Athletic Shams Charania. This Friday, all partially guaranteed contracts for the 2021-22 academic year become fully guaranteed, something that the Massachusetts franchise has anticipated.
Parker was the only player in the roster whose salary was not fully guaranteed. Thus, the Celtics free up a space in the squad, in addition to creating some additional flexibility to undertake any operation before the market close.
The player had already been cut by the Celtics on October 18 to avoid guaranteeing his contract. Two days later, the franchise would incorporate it again under new conditions. This contract would have awarded him a total of $ 2.2 million. After this termination, you will receive solo one million dollars, which is the same amount that will carry over to the Celtics salary cap unless another team claims it from the list of waivers.
In 22 games, 26-year-old Jabari Parker has averaged 4.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in just over nine minutes per evening.
