Peter Fegan, 38, was arrested by police on Macquarie street in Sydney’s CBD at about 11.45pm on December 11.
The high-profile TV journalist, who was rumoured to be dating Sunrise presenter Samantha Armytage in 2016, had just left the end-of-year drinks and was on his way to another venue when officers nabbed him.

The Daily Telegraph reported that Fegan was alone at the time of his arrest and will face court on January 27.
‘Peter was stopped by police some time after he left a dinner to head home. He was charged soon after. He made us aware of what happened and was then immediately suspended from all duties,’ Seven News boss Jason Morrison said.
Fegan is yet to comment on the matter but a source revealed to the publication that he is ‘shattered’ after being suspended from the job.

Fegan is said to be an extremely popular figure in the newsroom and has been working as a Channel Seven reporter since July 2015.
Prior to joining the network he was a writer for Rugby League Player magazine and worked as a cadet journalist for Northside Radio 99.3.
He and Samantha Armytage made headlines in 2016 with a rumoured romance reported by The Daily Telegraph, but neither of them ever confirmed they were in a relationship.
Daily Mail Australia have contacted Channel Seven for comment.
