Chaos at Adelaide Airport as families are forced into quarantine six hours early despite making a mad rush home for Christmas to beat a midnight deadline
Passengers landing in Adelaide from Sydney were left furious and distraught when they were forced into self-isolation six hours before the policy kicked in.
Thousands rushed to enter the city before 11.59pm on Sunday after Premier Steven Marshall announced Greater Sydney residents would be forced to isolate at home for 14 days beyond that time.
But passengers arriving on a flight at 6pm said they were forced into isolation anyway, six hours early.
Many were left crying at the airport as their Christmas plans were destroyed.
One Sydney resident who landed in Adelaide on Sunday afternoon told Daily Mail Australia it was ‘absolute carnage’ and the rules seemed to be changing by the second.
He said the police seemed under-resourced and there appeared to be a complete lack of communication between the government and the officers on the ground.
The resident was asked to take a test at the airport and self isolate until the result comes back negative.
