Choi Jong-In
The S-Rank Guild Master of the Hunters Guild

Choi Jong-In is the master of the biggest guild in South Korea, the Hunters Guild. This guild has 2 S-Rank hunters, tons of A-Rank hunters, and countless B-Rank hunters. That’s why they are the only guild in the country that has 2 Strike Squads.
At the heart of the Hunters Guild is its master, Choi Jong-In. He is an S-Rank fire mage who specializes in wide-scale attacks. He will display some of his firepower in the second season, but we won’t get to see Choi Jong-In unleash his full power. However, we’ll get to see him engage in a hilarious bidding war with Baek Yoonho over who can persuade Sung Jinwoo to join their guild first.

Hwang Dongsoo
An S-Rank Hunter from the Scavenger Guild

- First Appearance: Chapter 24
Hwang Dongsoo is a Korean-born S-Rank Hunter who decided to join a famous U.S.-based guild called the Scavenger Guild. This decision sparked outrage among the Korean people, some of which even called him a traitor. Hwang Dongsoo himself is an arrogant man with a short fuse. He knows he is powerful and won’t hesitate to threaten people with his power.
Hwang Dongsoo has a brother named Hwang Dongsuk, who was actually the cruel man that Jinwoo killed in the dungeon back in the first season. The purpose of Hwang Dongsoo’s appearance in the second season is to hunt his brother’s killer, Sung Jinwoo.

Baek Yoonho
The S-Rank Guild Master of the White Tiger Guild

- First Appearance: Chapter 47
Baek Yoonho is an S-Rank hunter and the master of the second biggest guild in South Korea, the White Tiger Guild. He is a fighter who can transform into a magical white beast. The transformation comes gradually, and the closer he comes to the original form of the White Beast, the stronger he is.

Just like Choi Jong-In, we won’t see Baek Yoonho unleash his full power in season 2. As mentioned earlier, he appears mostly in his capacity as a Guild Master, particularly in his attempt to recruit Sung Jinwoo into his guild. That being said, we’ll get a glimpse of Baek Yoonho’s white beast power during his skirmish with another S-Rank hunter, Hwang Dongsoo.

Cha Hae-In
The S-Rank Vice Guild Master of the Hunters Guild

- First Appearance: Chapter 65
Cha Hae-In is an S-Rank hunter and the vice guild master of the Hunters Guild. Despite being one of the youngest S-Rank hunters in the world, Cha Hae-In is actually among the top 3 most powerful S-Rank hunters in South Korea. There’s even an argument to be made that she is in fact stronger than her guild master, Choi Jong-In. That being said since Cha Hae-In is a fighter that specializes in swordplay, her role is different than Choi Jong-In the heavy hitters, so it’s actually difficult to compare the two.
Cha Hae-In will make her appearance around the same time as Choi Jong-In. Unlike her guild master, however, Cha Hae-In is more interested in Sung Jinwoo as a person, not as a hunter. We won’t get to see her use all of her powers in season 2, but we’ll get a chance to witness Cha Hae-In demolishing monsters in a dungeon.

Go Gunhee
The S-Rank Chairman of the Korean Hunters Association

Go Gunhee is an S-Rank hunter and the Chairman of the Korean Hunters Association. As somebody who is already in his 80s, he is one of the oldest S-Rank hunters in the world. Despite his old age, however, Go Gunhee is still an intimidating man, thanks to his towering height and wrestle-like body.
Although he is still an S-Rank, Go Gunhee is no longer active on the frontlines. His focus lies in nurturing and regulating the countless active hunters in South Korea. In Season 2, Go Gunhee is one of the first people who acknowledge Sung Jinwoo’s power.

Most of the characters mentioned above are the good guys. So it’s time to talk about the villains who will certainly be the highlights of the second season. So who is Jinwoo’s biggest enemy in season 2? The answer is obviously the dungeon’s monsters, particularly the powerful dungeon bosses.

Igris and the Shadow Soldiers

As the name suggests, Solo Leveling is a story that focuses on the protagonist’s solo journey to increase his level by challenging dungeons and defeating monsters. As such, the overwhelming majority of the story will be about the protagonist himself, Sung Jinwoo. However, as we’ve seen at the end of the first season, Sung Jinwoo won’t be struggling through these difficult paths alone. He will fight alongside his Shadow Soldiers.
His first proper Shadow Solider is none other than Igriss, the Red Knight. Igriss will have a much more prominent role during Jinwoo’s increasingly dangerous dungeon dives in season 2. Not only that, Jinwoo will add more reliable Shadow Soldiers into his army, such as Iron the Warrior, Tank the Mad Beast, and Tusk the Fearsome Mage. Their exploit with the Monarch of Shadows will definitely be the highlight of season 2.

Sung Jinwoo
Korea’s 10th S-Rank Hunter

As you can expect, the character who will shine the brightest in the second season of Solo Leveling is none other than the main character himself, soon-to-be Korea’s 10th S-Rank Hunter Sung Jinwoo. In season 2, our hero will experience the greatest changes in his life. Not only in terms of power but personality and appearance as well.
After all, when he raids dungeons upon dungeons and fights against terrifying monsters every day, some major changes are bound to happen. We’ll have a calmer, more calculated, leaner, more muscular, and certainly much more lethal version of Sung Jinwoo. Furthermore, we’ll get to see him fight in all sorts of dungeons—a snowy mountain range, a dense tropical forest, a city on fire, just to name a few—against all sorts of monsters.
And then there are also mundane activities that will certainly pique the interest of many RPG fans out there, such as obtaining new skills, spending experience points on certain attributes, collecting ingredients for crafting high-ranking items, and many more.
