Charlene White was voted to be the first campmate to be eliminated from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! on Friday night’s episode.
The presenter, 42, was sadly booted from the Australian jungle and had to bid farewell to her fellow celebrity castmates.
Also at risk of elimination was Sue Cleaver, who was narrowly spared in the first public vote of the series.
Farewell! Charlene White was voted to be the first campmate to be eliminated from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! on Friday night’s episode
Reunited! She was met by her sister Carena on the iconic bridge as she left the jungle
Crossing the iconic bridge and joining hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnolly to talk about her exit, Charlene was thrilled to be given a glass of champagne.
She was then played a montage of her best bits during her time in the camp, which showed her cooking for her fellow campmates and taking on the challenges.
Ant and Dec then quizzed Charlene, who works for ITV as a newsreader, on her conversations about politics with Matt Hancock, asking about their relationship.
When asked if she was shocked as he entered the jungle, she said: ‘I was surprised and also not surprised, I may be in the jungle but journalism is still my first job and I asked questions I thought the public would want me to. And I had to stay impartial, which was hard.’

Exit: It came after Charlene White was considered the bookies’ favourite to be booted first from I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!
However, she admitted that he did make some ‘wonderful’ connections with the other campmates and said that she did ‘get on’ with the Tory MP.
Speaking about the criticism she received for not sleeping in the comfy RV alongside Matt, a privilege for the camp leaders, Charlene said she was concerned about ‘impartiality’.
‘I thought it would be really difficult doing my job once I’d spent the night with a politician – not in that way,’ she said.
‘I had to think about the job I do when I get out of her and I didn’t want anyone to think my impartiality would go because I’d slept in the RV with him. And I said I would sleep in the hammock.’

Dodged it: Also at risk of elimination was Sue Cleaver, who was narrowly spared in the first public vote of the series
‘We wanted to give Owen the gift of learning to cook more than stir frys!’
The day before her elimination, in scenes aired earlier on Friday’s episode, Charlene also quit a gruelling Bushtucker trial and yelled ‘I’m a celebrity, get me out of here’.
Reflecting on her decision to withdraw from the trial, Charlene admitted that she was proud of herself for even giving it a try.
She said: ‘You saw the way I crumbled yesterday! Now I slept on it, I could have said those words as soon as I walked in, but at least I tried. I was hungry and I was tired.’
Saying goodbye: In true I’m A Celeb style, Charlene was covered with red and gold confetti as she crossed the iconic bridge
Earlier in the episode, Charlene had dramatically quit Friday night’s Watery Grave Bushtucker Trial that she did alongside Boy George.
The Loose Women star burst into tears after the challenge, after yelling ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’
Even before taking part in the challenge, which saw her and Boy George stand in watery tanks filled with sea creatures, she described the gruelling challenge as ‘her worst nightmare’.
Oh no! Earlier in the episode, Charlene had dramatically quit Friday night’s Watery Grave Bushtucker Trial that she did alongside Boy George
The pair had to pass stars to one another as their tanks, playfully called ‘tombs’ by hosts Ant and Dec, filled with water and live creatures including crabs, a baby crocodile, eels and water spiders.
‘You might have to talk me through this George, help me try and not absolutely freak out,’ Charlene told him at the start of the challenge, with the panic starting to creep in.
‘I don’t think I can do this. I’ve just come out of the water as I can’t get in with the eels,’ she added.
‘I was fine up until something else fell on me and I was like, ”I can’t.” I think I panicked. I got my head around it and then something else came and I crumbled,’ she said
‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! I was trying, I can’t,’ she said, before crying
‘Calm down babe, you got this,’ Boy George told her.
She soon quit the challenge after letting the fear get to her.
‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! I was trying, I can’t,’ she said, before crying.
‘I was fine up until something else fell on me and I was like, ”I can’t.” I think I panicked. I got my head around it and then something else came and I crumbled,’ she said.
The challenge: The Loose Women star, 42, and the singer, 61, battled it out to win stars for camp, with the duo locked in tanks as they slowly filled with water and water-based creatures
She added: ‘I’m really disappointed in myself and disappointed for camp.’
Back in the camp, Charlene said she misses her children and was consoled by Sue Cleaver.
‘I’d argue, if you look at your first day, what you did before you even got in here, and then if you look at what you were like the first night crying… you’ve conquered everything,’ Sue said.
Panicking: At one point Charlene – who is bookies favourite to be voted out first – attempted to climb back up the ladder as she was joined in the tank by a rather large visitor
Reach for the stars: At one point she struggled to reach the top of the maze before successfully passing it through the slots over to George
It came after Charlene White was considered the bookies’ favourite to be booted first from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.
A source told The Sun: ‘Talk has turned to the evictions as they know they’re any day now and a few of the big personalities have started to get the jitters.
‘Basically they are sh***ing themselves about being beaten by Matt. It would be a real dent to the ego if he proved more popular than them given everything he did during the pandemic.
‘They think it would be humiliating to go out first and leave him in camp sitting pretty.’
Addressing: Speaking about the criticism she received for not sleeping in the RV alongside Matt, a privilege for the camp leaders, Charlene said she was concerned about ‘impartiality’
Grinning: She flashed a huge smile as she left the jungle, becoming the first campmate to say farewell
Former Health Secretary Matt, 44, quit the role after controversially breaking his own lockdown rules by having an affair with aide Gina Coladangelo last year.
Now, Alex Apati, of bookie Ladbrokes, told MailOnline: ‘The odds suggest it’s Charlene who’ll be sent packing tonight, with punters seemingly still torn over what to do with Matt Hancock.’
Charlene’s odds are at 4/6 while Matt’s are 9/2, Sue Cleaver is 6/1, Scarlette Douglas is 7/1 and Boy George is 8/1.
Seann Walsh sits at 14/1 while Babatunde Aleshe is 20/1, so is Chris Moyles while Owen Warner is 33/1, Mike Tindall’s 50/1 and Jill Scott is 66/1.
It comes after Matt, Sue Cleaver and Jill Scott were all rewarded with a trip to the beach during Thursday evening’s episode of the reality show.
But the MP ruffled the feathers of his fellow campmates as he headed on the reward trip – with comedian Seann Walsh claiming that he was ‘having a holiday in here’.
And soap star Owen Warner was also feeling down, as he admitted to being ‘devastated’ not to be joining in on the beach trip.
The winning trio were rewarded with the trip after Jill, Mike Tindall, and Owen Warner were chosen by their campmates to take on the Scareground challenge which saw them write their co-stars names on balls, before putting them into a tombola.
Three winners were picked out and Matt, Sue and Jill were able to escape the conditions of camp for the day.

They were snapped on Wednesday as they arrived for the beach day by helicopter before enjoying some surf and turf.
And as they were informed of the reward during the episode, Matt told Jill: ‘You really, really deserve this after what you went through. And the fact that you’re so hungry.’
But Owen was less than impressed that he wouldn’t be heading on the trip, taking to the Bush Telegraph to explain that he was finding it difficult to be happy for his campmates.

Tucking in: While their campmates were green with jealousy, Matt, Sue and Jill tucked into a tasty barbecue on the beach
‘I want to say that I’m not gutted, I want to be as happy as I can be for them, but I am “devo’d”. Sue didn’t really fancy it, Matt’s been here five minutes, Jill… Jill is a sweet, sweet soul, she’s an angel, I’m so happy for Jill,’ he shared.
While Seann jested that Matt had it easy in the jungle, telling the group: ‘Matt is having an absolute holiday here. Sat in that chair, has a sleep in that bed, then goes to the beach for the day.’
Boy George added: ‘Can I just cut you off there, he still has to be Matt Hancock.’
Putting on a brave face: Soap star Owen Warner was also feeling down, as he admitted to being ‘devastated’ not to be joining in on the beach trip
While their campmates were green with jealousy, Matt, Sue and Jill tucked into a tasty barbecue on the beach – complete with sausages, king prawns and potato salad.
It was the latest of Matt’s victories, as he has been ruling the celebrities as camp leader – meaning he hasn’t needed to take part in any chores around the jungle.
Elsewhere in the episode, Charlene dared to raise the dire sleeping arrangements.
Time of his life: It was the latest of Matt’s victories, as he has been ruling the celebrities as camp leader – meaning he hasn’t needed to take part in any chores around the jungle
The Loose Women star, 42, said she’s be happy to sleep in a hammock so that everyone can alternate between a flat bed for a good night’s sleep.
It comes after her campmate Mike Tindall fumed at her because she refused to sleep in the RV alongside Matt Hancock, because she was worried about spiders.
‘I’ve said that I’m fine sleeping in a hammock. We’ve all got to alternate. Even if I sleep in there [the RV] there will still be two people left in a hammock. We’ve all got to alternate so no-one spends seven days sleeping in it,’ she began.
‘I keep telling everyone that I’ll sleep in the hammock!’ Charlene White said she’s ‘fine’ to give up a bed on I’m a Celebrity on Thursday… after Mike Tindall said she’s ‘f***ing annoying him’ for refusing to sleep in the RV
She added in the Bush Telegraph: ‘I keep telling everyone that I’ll sleep in the hammock, which I’m really happy to do. I think maybe I need to be more forceful about it tonight.’
Campmate Owen, 23, said to Charlene: ‘I’ve got more chance of having a rest in it than you.’
Owen added that he refuses to let Charlene sleep in a hammock as she’s like his ‘mum’ in the jungle.

Annoyed: It comes after Mike fumed at Charlene after she refused to sleep in the RV during I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! on Wednesday
‘I feel like saying, go on, sleep in the hammock and I bet you, in the middle of the night, she’s going to sneak up to the RV and get in that bed,’ he said to camera.
‘Charlene’s like my mum in here, it’s like me putting my mum in a hammock whilst I’ve got a bed, so we’ll see.’
Owen had volunteered to sleep in a hammock so Seann Walsh, 36, could sleep on a flat bed.
Seann said in the Bush Telegraph: ‘Owen, god bless that man, he gave up his bed. I needed that sleep. I really, really, really, really, really, really needed that sleep.’
Later in the episode footballer Jill Scott had to be attended to by a medic after a cockroach got stuck in her ear.
‘Come to the jungle they said, it would be fun they said’: I’m a Celeb’s Jill Scott was left horrified on Thursday’s show when she got a cockroach stuck in her ear during a trial
The sports star, 35, had the creepy-crawly stuck in her ear after competing in the Scareground trial, with the show’s super fans instantly comparing it to the iconic moment 2011 contestant Fatima Whitbread got a bug stuck up her nose.
‘I’ve just got a cockroach stuck in my ear,’ Jill said, after competing for the beach day prize draw in the tough challenge.
While the final moments saw Ant and Dec break the news to Boy George and Charlene that they would be facing the next Bushtucker trial, Watery Grave!.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues on Friday at 9pm on ITV1 and ITV Hub.
