The source added that Camilla seemed ‘somewhat taken aback’ by the question and said, ‘Well, absolutely gorgeous, I’m certain,’ according to Page Six.

Prince Charles reportedly then added: ‘I mean, what do you think their children’s complexion might be?’

A spokesperson for Prince Charles told the publication: ‘This is fiction and not worth further comment.’

MailOnline made repeated requests for comment from Harry and Meghan’s representatives and Buckingham palace but had no reply by Sunday evening.

The book’s author doesn’t actually say the Prince of Wales is the unnamed royal whom Harry and Meghan accused of racism during their March interview with US talk show host Oprah Winfrey.

Author Mr Anderson alleges that the reportedly innocent question from Prince Charles was blown out of proportion by a group of courtiers, known as the ‘Men in Grey, who relished in putting a racist spin on it.
