Charlie Hebdo magazine faced widespread criticism for publishing a cartoon of the Queen of Britain kneeling on the neck of Duchess of Saxe, Megan Markle, in a simulation of the killing of George Floyd at the hands of the US police.
The British newspaper, The Independent, reported that the caricature bore the headline: “Why did Megan leave Buckingham Palace?” George Floyd at the hands of the police, who ignited international protests against police violence and racism in the United States.
