Hyatt Place and Hyatt House have a combined total of more than 520 locations around the world. They are mostly nondescript three-star hotels situated near the highway. They’re perfect for two types of travelers:

  • If find yourself pulling off the highway and just trying to find refuge for the night, you’ll have a hard time doing better than one of these Hyatt brands.
  • If you’re hunkering down in a location for an extended period of time, these hotel brands have things like living rooms, kitchenettes, etc.

Hyatt Place and Hyatt House are the least fancy Hyatt brands out there. But here’s the thing about Hyatt: Its standards tend to be a notch above everyone else. While budget hotels offered by other chains such as Marriott, Hilton, and Choice are sometimes questionable, budget Hyatt hotels are delightful.

With this latest promotion, you’ll earn 1,000 bonus points when staying at Hyatt Place or Hyatt House. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Stays must be at least two qualifying nights.
  • You must either pay an eligible rate or book an award night to qualify.
  • You must stay between January 2 and March 5, 2023.
  • You must register by January 31, 2023.

You can register for the promotion here.

Insider’s valuations estimate that Hyatt points are worth an average of 1.5 cents each. That means you’ll get an average of $15 in value for every eligible stay.

If you already make a habit of staying at Hyatt Place or Hyatt House, these points will come in extra handy. Because these hotels are often the cheapest Hyatt hotels, you can find hundreds of locations for 6,500 points or less. You could find yourself with a free night after just four qualifying stays.

And because these hotels tend to cost $100 or more, it’s quite easy to achieve an average value higher than Insider’s value estimates.

Bottom line

While we’ve seen more generous promotions from Hyatt in the past, it’s great that this latest offer allows you to earn bonus points for both paid and award nights. However, it’s not worth switching your stays from another hotel brand to Hyatt unless the cost is nearly identical.
