Foreign Secretary, Marcelo Ebrard, celebrated this Wednesday morning the inauguration of a replica of the pyramid of kukulkan built with blocks of ice in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, northwest China.
“Good day. I share great news with you. Today, virtually, Ambassador Jesús Seade inaugurated an ice replica of the Kukulkan pyramid in China. With this, the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations is celebrated, which will be fulfilled in 2022, between our countries, the Mexican foreign minister wrote from his Facebook account.
“Within the framework of XXIII Harbin International Snow and Ice Festival, a replica of the wonder of the world, proudly Mexican, located in the archaeological site of Chichen Itza, in Yucatan, was presented. It is a great moment for our cultural projection!”
The replica of the pyramid stands in an area of 440 square meters that houses other emblematic constructions of the world, it measures 9.5 meters high, 20.9 meters long by 20.9 deep.
It was made with 1,100 cubic meters of ice and 500 workers per day for a full week participated in its construction.
