Chinese media announced that the country plans to launch its first probe to study the sun next year.
According to the Chinese newspaper “Xinhua”, “the ASO-S probe, which weighs 1000 kg, and is the first Chinese probe to study the sun, is supposed to be launched in the first half of next year, to work for 4 years in collecting data related to the sun, and flying in an orbit that rises from the earth About 720 km. “
The basic tasks of this probe will focus on observing the sun’s magnetic field, monitoring solar flares and coronal mass emissions from the gas giant, and its equipment will include a magnetic field monitoring device, thermal imaging devices, and a telescope to monitor the sun.
The study of the sun and its flares and magnetic field is one of the things that most interest astronomers in many countries of the year, and since the 1960s, more than 70 satellites have been launched dedicated to this field.
China has been working in recent years to significantly develop its space program, launching many multi-purpose satellites, developing new types of space missiles, and developing a plan to study the moon, Mars, and many space objects in our solar system.
