He hasn’t signed his contract yet, but it seems like a mere formality. Leandro Bolmaro arrives in the NBA at 21 years old after being number 23 in the 2020 draft. He has spent the last year tanning his game in Spain with Barcelona and now, after the Tokyo Olympics, he is ready to continue his career with The best players in the world. We do not know what role they will have in Minnesota, if he will have many minutes at the beginning or if he will have to earn them, but what we have no doubts is that his coach, Chris Finch, is delighted to have him on board.
“He is an intrepid player. We love that about him. He competes, he’s lively… He just knows how to play basketball. He moves well without the ball, he fits in with all the pieces we already have. That gives him a base to be able to get to the court and help from the first moment. It will be a great complementary piece ”, says the head coach during the presentation of the Argentine.
For Bolmaro it is a great change, an exciting one that is still difficult to see as real. He is a young man with great aspirations who understands that achieving the desired goals depends on his determination on a day-to-day basis. “I have waited for this moment for a long time. I am very grateful to be here. This is a dream come true. I’m going to enjoy and work and… work ”.
In his second year in the Spanish basketball league, Bolmaro has shown himself to be an essential player for Barcelona, especially in what concerns the outside game; so much so that in the ACB it has achieved 45.3% in triples, while in the Euroleague it has gone to 38.1%. The signing of his rookie contract is imminent.
